This is so blatantly obvious. They’re hosting a mega satanic ritual celebrating the human sacrifice that occurred 23 years ago. The significance? In the occult the number 23 represents “splitting apart”. This is reference to the falling of the towers, they “split”. It is also considered sinister. And then there is the “23 Enigma”.
“The 23 enigma is considered a corollary to the Law of Fives, which states that "All things happen in fives.” In other words, a reference to the five pointed pentagram, a symbol used in satanic sacrifice rituals.

SS: The VMAs usually feature performances that heavily use “illuminati” and satanic symbols. Last year Doja Cat’s disrespectful performance had backdrops and props that seemed to reference 9/11. This year it will be the main focus.
Also, why not call them the Music Video Awards? If you look at the logo backwards, A comes first. It points up. As above… so below. V points down.
