  1. Many US universities also rely heavily on full-price foreign students. After trying to teach too many unfortunate albeit wealthy students who didn’t speak English well enough for the class (at a, say, top 30 US university), I tend to think universities should keep cost down so they don’t get into these messes.

    And that’s not by cutting faculty/library/etc. *Insert rant about rising admin costs, government subsidy, and mission drift at US universities*
