I don’t think this should be his message. I disagree with his decision to not debate but he should at least frame it as “I won’t debate on a rigged network.” And republicans should pledge the same thing.

This is not a good look and not the way to go about this. The final debate of 2016 was on October 19th and in 2020 it was October 22nd. This one would have been October 23rd. There’s not a substantial difference between this year’s suggested debate date and the previous years he’s run for president.
If he thinks debating will only help Harris then he needs to avoid excuses like this and just keep focusing his messaging on the fact that the networks are biased and unfairly help Harris.

ABC established the template for how to rig a debate for Kamala. It would be naive not to expect CNN to do the exact same thing.
