A Vote For Donald Trump Is A Vote For Normalcy

  1. Trump is a catalyst for political discussions about what should be normal in the first place. Discussions we weren’t normally having before. Currently there isn’t a generally accepted normal because the country is divided on that issue. It was before, but it wasn’t part of the broad political discourse so it was hidden to an extent.

Given that lack of shared norms across America, appeals to normalcy, or accusations of weirdness, are both insubstantial hot air.

Voting to make the right things normal makes sense. Voting for normalcy? That’s voting for nothing.

From a policy standpoint, I agree. But regardless of whether Trump or Harris wins next month, we are not going back to anything resembling normalcy.
