I feel like the closest (at least somewhat big) religions I have found to liberalism are the non-theistic one like Buddhism and Jainism. They are not directly related to liberalism but their are some ideas like reducing your self-centeredness and non-violence.
But even then they attract their own kind of kooky people who interpret the religion’s principles in their own way and spawn cults.
What would a liberalizing religion look like?
