This is 100% true. I get that people who are glued to election news 24/7 will see this as cowardly and a mistake, but the truth is another debate on her terms will just go badly.
All she’s using the debates for is try and twist the election into a question of who has the better character when that’s the last thing people should be worried about.
Trump will take some temporary heat for his performance and declining another debate but in a couple of weeks people will start to look more objectively at the state of the economy, gas and grocery prices, immigration etc.
I actually think it’s a rare moment of self awareness that he’s not rushing to get back in the ring because she embarrassed him and is instead thinking of the bigger picture.
