Always thought it was either seeing & not saying anything about things happening at one of the infamous parties. Between the guilt he felt and then the repercussions of naming people /celebrities as result of that guilt.
The social media posts by Hanks done during this timeframe with cryptic connections to Kappy’s alleged suicide always stuck with me. (These were posts about missing people, referencing the highway Kappy was found on etc.)

My personal opinion is that this is a man who saw the dark truth of Hollywood and was in judgment of “them.” He tried to expose the truth of what these people DO, in exchange for wealth, power and fame. I think the line in the sand for him, was pedophilia.
He knew that once they made “the offer” to him, he was unlikely to survive if he rejected the offer.
This video seems to me, to be his moment of realization that even though he did not engage in the worst of “their” actions, that he had still placed himself in service to “them” already and failed to realize that he had already placed himself on the wrong side.
Like someone who saw the darkness, began to experience their own light and realized that he had already sold himself out. He said something to the effect of ‘now I’m one of them. I’m one of them.’
