It is one of about 100 hotels and other facilities, from iconic skyscrapers to humble airport motels, that the city has converted into temporary housing for some of the 50,000 migrants who have arrived on buses from the southern border since last spring. For migrants, the housing, while at times imperfect, has provided welcome respite as they begin to eke out new lives in a frenetic city. – Source

  1. D:< my lil trailer got fucked up from this storm tried to apply for FEMA, they sent me an application for a small business loan…. I’m talking about one tree fell on one side and another fell on the other side, trees blocking you in and trees all down the dirt road to get into it and power was out for a week on top of that.

  2. I refuse to believe that this type of post (and the comments) are organic. It’s just too braindead.

The explanation is literally in your post and people are still pretending to be angry about this.

  3. $750 is not a loan its a first payment to pay for immediate necessities to get yourself through first week or 2… so you can buy food, diapers, formula or whatever you need. You do not have to repay. Thank you for your disinformation

Sheer insanity. Of course, FEMA isn’t going to give those poor people grants. All that money is earmarked to other, more important recipients.

  5. No, the 750 is not a loan. This is saying that they do give loans to people awaiting insurance payments.

  6. Meanwhile, foreign governments receive billions of U.S. tax revenue as a free gift from establishment politicians. Our money, that we earned, gone forever. Next they will send out children to die.
